In traditional dentistry, getting a permanent dental crown meant enduring messy putty impressions, wearing a temporary crown for weeks, and taking time out of your busy schedule for multiple visits. At Seven Lakes Dental, we believe your time is just as valuable as your smile. Guided by Dr. Brad A. Larreau and Dr. Steven Thomas, our practice leverages advanced technology to deliver unhurried, exceptional restorative care. With our state-of-the-art CAD/CAM system, you can receive a custom, durable, and natural-looking ceramic restoration in a single visit to our Marysville, WA office.
Streamlined Innovation: What Are CEREC® Same-Day Crowns?
CEREC stands for chairside economical restoration of esthetic ceramics. It is an advanced dental technology system that allows our doctors to design, fabricate, and place custom ceramic crowns during a single appointment. Instead of sending digital models or physical impressions to an off-site laboratory, our team manages the entire restoration process right at your chairside in Marysville, WA.
Precision Digital Craftsmanship: How Does CEREC® Technology Work?
The process begins with an advanced digital scanner that captures high-resolution 3D virtual impressions of your mouth, completely eliminating the discomfort of traditional gooey trays. Using computerized CAD software, Dr. Larreau or Dr. Thomas precisely designs your new crown to match the natural contours, bite alignment, and color of your surrounding teeth. Once the design is complete, our in-office milling unit carves your custom restoration from a solid block of high-strength ceramic. After custom glazing and polishing, your crown is bonded securely into place, restoring full tooth function before you leave our office.
Remarkable Benefits Of Single-Visit Restorations
Choosing CEREC single-visit restorations provides significant advantages for your oral health, lifestyle, and busy schedule:
- Time-saving convenience: Complete your treatment in one seamless appointment without needing to take extra time off work or school.
- No temporary crowns: Avoid the hassle, sensitivity, and risk of loss associated with wearing a temporary plastic crown for weeks.
- Exceptional aesthetic accuracy: High-quality ceramic blocks are shade-matched to complement your natural tooth enamel seamlessly.
- Mess-free impressions: Advanced digital 3D optical scans replace uncomfortable, gag-inducing impression materials.
- Long-term durability: Precision digital design ensures a marginal fit that protects your remaining natural tooth structure along the gumline.
Determining Ideal Restorative Options: Who Is A Candidate?
CEREC restorations are an ideal choice for most adult patients who require a structural crown due to extensive decay, deep fractures, or a worn-down tooth surface. They are also frequently used to strengthen a tooth following root canal therapy or to replace old, failing amalgam restorations. During your initial evaluation, our doctors will carefully review your 3D digital x-rays to ensure the underlying root and bone support optimal long-term success.
Engineered For Quality: How Long Do CEREC® Same-Day Crowns Last?
When cared for with consistent oral hygiene, CEREC restorations last just as long as traditional laboratory-fabricated crowns, often extending fifteen years or more. Maintaining your crown requires brushing twice daily, flossing thoroughly along the natural tooth margin, and keeping up with your regular dental check-ups. If you grind your teeth at night, our doctors may recommend custom nightguards to protect your investment from heavy bite forces.
